Mediation Services is seeking nominations for volunteers for our Board of Directors. We are particularly interested in recruiting an individual with a financial designation (or background). Experience with or demonstrated understanding of Restorative Justice is a definite asset, in addition to prior experience serving on a Board of Directors.
Please email your expression of interest along with information supporting your candidacy to Barbara Boyko – Recruitment Lead at firstname.lastname@example.org by 12:00 noon Friday, May 25, 2018.
Mediation Services recognizes the importance of building an exemplary board that is inclusive and reflective of the population we serve. We encourage applicants to voluntarily self-declare if they are from any of the following employment equity groups: women, Indigenous people, visible minorities, and persons with disabilities.
Mediation Services is a local, non‑profit organization that promotes peace and restorative justice within the community. We have been offering conflict resolution services to Manitobans since 1979, including victim‑offender mediation and community mediation for family/neighbourhood disputes, workplace intervention, comprehensive training in conflict resolution skills and volunteer opportunities.
In 2018, the Manitoba government announced intentions for significant changes to the justice system and affirmed a commitment to restorative justice. This represents many potentially strong and positive opportunities for Mediation Services and our community in the years ahead.
