Strengths-based approaches focus on the inherent strengths of individuals, families, groups and organizations. This approach stands in contrast to looking at what is not working to a focus an asset-based approach where the goal is t promote and build on the positive to support empowerment and development. We will explore Appreciate Inquiry (AJ) and SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, and Results) processes that are strength-based approaches to strategic planning.
